Central Park Montessori School is located at 1 West 91st Street at Central Park West.
Infant Teaching Teams
Karen, our Infant/Toddler Coordinator, joined Twin Parks in 2010. She received her Infant and Toddler Certification from CMTE and has been active in the Montessori community for over 25 years. Karen is also a certified Infant and Toddler Consultant for AMS. Prior to coming to Twin Parks, she was the director and owner of Cornerstone Montessori School in Rhode Island. In her free time, she enjoys exercise and spending time with her adult daughter who resides in New York City.
Daniela has been at Twin Parks since 2007 with all of our age groups. She has completed her course work and will continue her classroom training in Infant/Toddler Montessori Certification from the Center For Montessori Teacher Education. She has her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College. Daniela has a special place in her heart for infants and enjoys working with our youngest of students. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and participating in community events in her spare time.
Wendolyn joined Twin Parks in 2007. She has been working with young children since 2003 and has experience with infants, toddlers and early childhood children. She graduated from Monroe College in the Bronx with a B.A degree in Hospitality Management and is a fluent bilingual speaker. Currently, Wendy is taking classes towards an Early Childhood degree.
Yackira joined Central Park Montessori in 2011. She received her B.A. in Latin American and Caribbean Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College. Yackira is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education at Mercy College. Yackira completed her Infant/Toddler Montessori certification in 2012 at CMTE/NY. Yackira loves to spend her free time with family and friends and volunteering for events related to Juvenile Diabetes, Breast Cancer and Autism.
Sianna joined the Central Park team in 2011. She has experience as a music teacher and a dance instructor for high school and elementary school children. She has a BS from City College in Childhood Education. In her free time Sianna volunteers as a leader in her High School marching band and plays the glockenspiel.
Maria joined Central Park in 2011. She has a real passion for working with young children and she shows that through her natural warmth and kindness. Reading is her number one hobby and she also enjoys walking and practicing yoga.
Jillian came to Central Park Montessori in 2011. She has an A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Kings Borough Community College. Jillian has worked with young children since 1999 and previously worked at the YMCA of Greater New York with children ages 6 months to 5 years. She enjoys swimming in her free time.
Jenny joined the Twin Parks community in 2007. She has completed coursework at Grodno State University at Belarus. She found work at a summer internship in a preschool in Belarus very rewarding, which began her career as a teacher. She also taught English as a second language. She completed her American Montessori Society (AMS) training at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education/NY in the Infant/Toddler program.
Ada joined Twin Parks in 2009. She has been working with young children for over 16 years. In her spare time, Ada enjoys working out and spending time with her family.
Toddlers Teaching Teams
Caitlin has been with Twin Parks since 2008. She earned her B.A. from Emory University in Psychology and her M.A. from Montclair State University is Sociology. Prior to coming to Twin Parks, Caitlin worked as an assistant in a kindergarten class as well as a private home schooling teacher. She earned her Infant and Toddler Montessori certificate at CMTE after discovering her love for the Montessori philosophy. Caitlin is the very proud mother of Logan and Fiona (Twin Parks Montessori students).
Paola has been apart of the Twin Parks since 2004. She has worked with children 3 months to five years old. She attended Lehman College for two years and is looking forward to continuing her studies in early childhood. She is also fluent in English and Spanish. Paola enjoys sharing her passion for music and art with the children, especially her daughter Zoe.
Carolyn began her career at Twin Parks Montessori in 2011. She is completing her undergraduate degree at Mercy College with a Major in Sociology. She loves working with infants and toddlers and enjoys kickboxing and spending time with her family.
Kimberly is an AMI certified Montessori teacher for children ages birth-3. She has 9 years experience working in Montessori Schools, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Early Childhood Education. Kimberly also holds New York State Permanent certification in Elementary Education grades birth-6th grade. She has worked at the Riverside campus for the past 3 years, and is very excited about joining the team at Central Park Montessori!
Pam has been a member of the Twin Parks community since 2006. Pam attended the University of Florida and worked many years in the airline industry as an adult instructor. This career allowed her to travel the world inspiring her to pursue her second career as a Montessori educator. Pam received her Early Childhood Montessori Credential from AMS in 2006 from West Side Montessori School. She has experience working with toddlers and children 2.9-6 years old. In her spare time, Pam loves being a patron of the creative arts throughout the city and work in her ever-growing garden.
Kaitlin joined the Central Park Montessori team in 2011. She received her BA in Childhood Education from St. Francis College in June 2011 and has plans to pursue her Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. She has worked with small children for over 5 years through summer camp, afterschool programs and substitute teaching. In her free time she enjoys creating art through baking and writing.
Elizabeth (Liz) joined Twin Parks in 2009. She received her B.A. in English Literature for middle and high school education. She minored in Religious Studies and is currently taking graduate classes towards a Master’s in Early Childhood. She is a certified Infant/Toddler Montessori teacher. Elizabeth tutored at-risk students in an after-school program for the Godman Guild Association in Columbus, Ohio and served as an assistant teacher in two Montessori schools in upstate New York. As a former Montessori student, she believes that her childhood experiences in a Montessori classroom gave her a love for learning and confidence that has remained with her through the years.
Louise has worked at Twin Parks since 2009. She is a certified Infant/Toddler Montessori teacher. She holds a B.A. in Human Resource Management from South Hampton Solent University in the United Kingdom. Before coming to Central Park Montessori, she worked as a substitute teacher with children ages 6 months to 5 years. Louise is a proud Montessori mother of her son Oscar, born in March 2012 attending our Ginkgo classroom.
Alma joined Central Park Montessori in 2011 but has been associated with Twin Parks as a parent since 2007. Originally from Albania, Alma is currently a student at the Borough of Manhattan Community College seeking a degree in Childhood Education. She enjoys spending time with her two sons and reading in her spare time.
Early Childhood Teams
Catherine is a certified Montessori teacher for Early Childhood. She completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Chaminade University of Honolulu in December 2007. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Dongbei University in China. She had over three years experience working with children in Montessori schools before joining Twin Parks in December 2008.
Jolie joined Twin Parks in 2000. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from City College where she earned her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and went on to earn her Masters in Literacy from Teachers College at Columbia University. Jolie is New York State Certified in Early Childhood Education and is in the process of obtaining her New York State Certification in Literacy. She received her Infant/Toddler Montessori Certification from CMTE. Jolie is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter who is a Twin Parks graduate. In her spare time, Jolie enjoys her family, cooking, traveling, and occasional days at the spa.
Angela joined Twin Parks in 2012. She holds a BA in Psychology with a Child Development Associate credential. Angela is currently obtaining her AMS certification in Early Childhood. She has previous teaching experience and continues to learn new developments in the field. She is studying Montessori philosophy and curriculum at Princeton Montessori School. In her spare time, Angela enjoys the beach, drawing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Ellen joined Twin Parks in 2008 and Central Park Montessori in 2011. She received her BS in Childhood Education/Special Education and her MA in Literacy Education at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education. She has completed her classroom training for her Early Childhood Montessori Certification at CMTE. Ellen has spent time volunteering for The Boys Club and The Door/University Settlement. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing the piano, and practicing Taekwondo.
Jill joined Central Park Montessori in 2011. She graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Ballet and minor in Psychology. She completed her Early Childhood Montessori certification through CMTE/NY, and is also certified in yoga at the 200 hour level. She has taught Creative Movement for over 4 years, and enjoys sharing yoga, music and movement with the children. Jill was a Montessori child, and is very passionate about education reform, especially the Montessori for Public School Movement. In her spare time, she loves to sing and play guitar.
Ramze is an experienced teacher who joined the Twin Parks team in 2011. He recently graduated from Bronx Community College earning an A.A. in liberal arts education. Currently he is pursuing his B.A in Early Childhood Education and Special Education at Lehman College. In his spare time, Ramze enjoys staying active by running, swimming, playing sports, visiting his family and walking his 2 dogs.
Matti (a Montessori child) obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University and has since earned her Early Childhood Montessori Credential from the Center for Montessori Teachers Education Program, here in New York. Outside of the classroom, Matti enjoys baking, spending time with her family, friends, and her black Labrador puppy!
Marilia joined Twin Parks in 2012. She received her Early Childhood Montessori credential from the Houston Montessori Center. Marilia is completing her Master’s of Education at St. John’s University, a nice supplement to her bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Texas. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, exercising, cooking, watching movies, reading books and spending time with family and friends.
Zongqin (Zun-chin) joined Central Park in 2011. She earned her BA in Early Childhood Education from Beijing University and her Early Childhood Montessori certification from Dallas Montessori Academy. She has been a teacher since in China, Texas, and now New York.
Liz, Education Director, is a Montessori certified early childhood teacher. She received her MA from The Steinhardt School of Education at New York University with a dual certification in early childhood education and special education. She has taught at the Lower Lab School and, for the last six years, has taught at West Side Montessori School. Liz has also been an instructor for a Montessori Teacher Education Program and has extensive experience working with teachers in their classrooms. She is delighted to be a member of the Twin Parks parent community and enjoys spending time with her son (Alex born in 2011) and husband in New York City.
Penny, our Admissions Director, most recently served as Director of Operations at The Speyer Legacy School. As one of the key people on the start-up team at The School at Columbia University, Penny Nadel worked closely with the Head of School as Coordinator of Administration. Past experience includes thirteen years at The Ramaz School and thirteen years at The Dalton School. Penny served as School Placement Counselor in the Work/Life Department of Columbia University. Her work has included advocating for placement of children with special needs as well as gifted children. Penny is a proud mother of Montessori graduates.
Ann, our Administrative Coordinator, joined the Central Park team in 2011. She has worked in diverse industries since 1985 in both Jamaica and New York City and is well-versed in all areas of office administration. In her free time, Ann enjoys reading, cooking, the outdoors and spending time with her two daughters.
