Maria Montessori’s method of education is receiving a lot of press recently.  On what would have been her 142nd birthday, August 31st, she was honored with a Google Doodle.  I found this interesting article about 10 stand-out Montessorians, many of which you will be familiar with.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez is one of the famous people who attended Montessori as a child.  He is the Colombian author of “Love in the Time of Cholera” and “One Hundred Years of Solitude”.  Marquez, a Nobel prize winner has said, “I do not believe there is a method better than Montessori for making children sensitive to the beauties of the world and awakening their curiosity regarding the secrets of life.”

As we begin our 2012-13 School Year, we will remember that we are creating memories for the next generation of famous Montessorians!
