Riverside
Riverside Montessori is located at West 93rd Street and Riverside Drive, a stone’s throw from Riverside Park, and has approximately 150 students. The school is accredited by both the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools (MSCES), is a member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS), the Independent School Admission Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY), and the Parents League, as well as an affiliate school of Columbia University. All our lead teachers are Montessori certified and have training in early childhood education.
Admissions
The Columbia University Affiliated Child Care Centers offer an optional early notification of their admissions decision to the applicant families who are current and prospective faculty, staff and students of Columbia University. If interested, parents should contact the Admissions Director (admissions@twinparks.org) to learn more about early notification.
Riverside Montessori School partners with the Department of Education’s PreK for All program and offers 30 places in our Early Childhood program. Placement in this program is determined by the Department of Education. For more information please visit their website here.

Our Teachers
Infant Teaching Teams
Lisa is a certified AMS Montessori Infant-Toddler teacher. She has been part of our Riverside Montessori School since 2001. Lisa is fluent in Spanish and English and enjoys each moment with her grandchildren.
Liana joined Riverside in Fall 2017. She is a certified AMS Montessori Infant-Toddler teacher. Liana holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Goucher College. Liana enjoys photography and maintains a daily yoga practice.
Lisseida joined Riverside Montessori School in March 2017 as an assistant teacher for the infant program. Lisseida is fluent in Spanish and English.
Evangeline joined Riverside Montessori School in Fall 2017. She completed her AMS Montessori Infant/Toddler certification from PCTE (Princeton Center for Teacher Education) in 2003. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Centro Escolar University in the Philippines. Evangeline has been passionately working with young children in different Montessori Schools in New York City as a Toddler teacher for the past 18 years.
Annie Mai joined Riverside Montessori in 1999 as an assistant teacher. With over 20 years of experience she continues to broaden and apply her education by attending numerous workshops and professional development courses. She currently holds an International Montessori Teaching Diploma. She is originally from Ireland and came to the United States in 1988. She has two children, enjoys walking in the park with her dog, and playing tennis in the summer months.
Ami joined Riverside Montessori School in 2013. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from City College and is a certified AMS Infant/Toddler Montessori Teacher. Her experiences include teaching in an early childhood weekend program, and volunteer work as a Team Leader in a non-profit organization, Rice Grains Inc., with the Youth program (10-19yrs old) distributing food and care packages to those in need.
Lis joined the Riverside Montessori School in 2007 as a substitute teacher and became a full-time classroom teacher in 2012. She is a certified AMS Montessori Infant-Toddler teacher and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the State University of Padang in Indonesia.
Toddler Teaching Teams
Corny has been a teacher at Riverside Montessori since the school opened in 1997 and is an expert at classroom design and toddler curriculum. She is a certified AMS Montessori Infant-Toddler teacher and completed her CDA (Child Development Associate) Degree at Touro College. She is currently working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Mindy joined Riverside Montessori School in Fall 2017 and was previously with our Park West Montessori campus since 2008. She is an AMS Infant-Toddler Montessori Certified teacher and has a Bachelor’s Degree from John Jay College.
Jessenia is an Infant-Toddler Montessori certified teacher with over 20 years of experience. Prior to coming to Riverside, Jessenia worked at Park West Montessori.
Sahdia joined Riverside Montessori School as an assistant teacher for the 2018 summer program. Prior to joining she taught at the Boys and Girls Harbor Preschool, and also has experience as a volunteer for both Headstart and Public Schools. She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
Vicki has been teaching at Riverside Montessori since 2000. Throughout her career as an assistant teacher, she has worked with children ranging in age from three months to 24 months. Vicki enjoys designing her Montessori home for her son.
Early Childhood Teaching Teams
Sae joined Riverside Montessori School in Fall 2018. She is an AMS Montessori Certified teacher with 15 years teaching experience. She completed her MA in Early Childhood Education from NYU and is NYS certified. Sae is fluent in Japanese.
Sarah has been an Early Childhood teacher at Riverside since 2007. She has her Montessori certification (ages 3-6) from CMTE/NY, an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University and an MA in Early Childhood Education from The College of New Rochelle.
Dian joined Riverside Montessori School in October 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Management from Trisakti University in Indonesia. Dian has several years’ experience working as a childcare provider.
Gail has been at Riverside Montessori since 1998. She Holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College and has experience in all age groups at Riverside Montessori. She is a certified AMI Montessori Certified Teacher.
Lauren joined Riverside Montessori in September 2012. She is an AMS Montessori Certified teacher and has her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from New England College. Lauren spent many summers as a camp counselor for different age groups. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood education.
Astry joined Riverside Montessori School in September 2019. She previously worked as an Assistant Teacher and Administrative Assistant at Morningside Montessori School for 10 years, and led an in-home day care for 5 years.
Paulette joined Riverside Montessori School in 2015 and worked in both the older infant and toddler programs. She was born in Puerto Rico where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and has lived abroad, including Spain and Mexico, where she received her Art Psychotherapist and Equine Therapy Credentials. Paulette is a certified AMS Montessori Infant-Toddler teacher and holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Learning Disabilities.
Elika joined Riverside Montessori in 2015 and is a Certified (AMS) Montessori Early Childhood Teacher. He holds a BA with a minor in Psychology from The Colleges of New Rochelle. His experience includes teaching physical education for ten years at The Children’s Storefront School and a Lead Teacher role at the Ricardo O’Gorman Garden School for five years, both located in Harlem, NY. He enjoys cooking, horticulture and poetry.
Zoe is a senior at Sarah Lawrence College with a background in dance. She has experience in working as a youth counselor as well as a teaching assistant in both summer and afterschool programs. Most recently Zoe worked at B’s preschool, a Waldorf inspired school in Portland, Oregon.
Victoria joined Riverside in January 2015 and is a certified AMS Montessori teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in English Language Arts with a minor in Psychology. She worked as a professional childcare provider for ten years and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Victoria enjoys creating art projects, listening to music, and spending time with her husband and family.
Carolina is a certified Infant/Toddler Montessori Certified Teacher. She has worked at Riverside Montessori for several years, and spent time at Williamsburg Montessori as a lead teacher. She has a BA in Early Childhood Education. Carolina is fluent in English and Spanish.
Miluska has been working with children for over 15 years, and joined the Twin Parks community in 2018. Miluska learned a lot about Early Childhood Education through her experience working in a Reggio-Emilia pre-school with infants, toddlers and Pre-K students. She enjoys traveling, dancing and spending time with friends and family. Milly was born in Peru and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
